Aluminium hole diameter correction

Small holes generally seem to come out too small. Redrilling works only on straight holes that are accessible.

Is there like a correction factor, like to obtain a 2.5mm hole design it 2.9mm. Or to obtain a 0.8mm hole design it 1.5mm. And a forget holes below x mm, they will be filled anyway.

I couldn’t find that in the design rules. Please advise. Thanks.

Hello Wolfgang,

Talking about a specific factor to take into account when designing small features like holes, there is unfortunately no figure available. Certain deviations are possible in the 3D printed output but they are minor and negligent and may vary from one build to another. Also the location of holes plays roles. Since the model is printed only in one position, holes at different locations or angles to the build will have different deviations.

Therefore if high precision in holes dia. needed it is indeed advised to punch/drill them after the part is built.
