1st time 3D Printer , please help!

Hi,

I am very new to 3d printing and was hoping someone would be able to help me out.

i am wanting to 3d print the top of this key, i dont yet have it in a 3d format yet. what is the best format for printing this (i think it would be in a metal, not sure if that changes anything )

What materials would you think would be the best for this item, and what materials would be the best to minimize the layer lines. also is there anything else id need to minimize the lines on the final item?

and how much roughly do you think it would cost for this to be printed in these materials. not a confirmed price, i would just like to know how much this will cost to see if i can afford this right now.

also i did see you had a hire a 3d designer, do you have anyone you recommend or what subject you think would be suitable to put this item under to find the correct designer ?!32072729_1661731600613959_1047910224234545152_n%20(1)

thanks for your time and your help

Hi Calypso,

Your idea is totally feasible with 3D printing, and I could tell right away that the best option here is to use precious metals we offer.

For the model to have an appearance like in the image, I’d advise to check bronze, brass or copper. Be sure to go through the “Design Guide” page to ge more insight on specifications and designing tips, as well as “Colors & Finishes” section to see what kind of output can be reached.Talking about printing lines, polishing and further plating reduces their visibility.

Unfortunately we can’t advise on a rough price without the model. Many factors, including a model’s volume, have to be considered.

We support all popular formats, and moreover not limited to 3MF, STL, OBJ, WRL, SKP, Collada (DAE), 3MF, 3DS, IGS, MODEL, 3DM, FBX, PLY, Magics, MGX, X3D, STP, STEP, PRT.

Regarding hiring a 3D modeler, you can just filter out the list of designers by those who specialize in Jewelry or Art design.
