Description

Your design is 3D printed in wax. Molten gold is then poured into the mold. Often your item has to be finished and polished by hand.

Material samples

Color

All of the gold used is 14 carat solid gold. This is not a thin veneer but rather your entire jewel will be made of solid gold. We have 3 colors a very bright yellow gold, a deeper gold with a reddish rose tinge and a white gold. Their material properties are identical.

Typical use

Gold is mostly used for jewelry or as a store of value. Feel free to use us to 3D print your own personalized gold bars but we really expect most of you to use this for making meaningful jewels.

Technology

Wax 3D printing and lost wax casting are used to build your design when using this material. The models are 3D printed in wax, which is then replaced by molten gold.

Additional information

  • Structures such as a “ball within a ball” cannot be made with this process.
  • Links of chains for example can also not be made with this process.
