Kevin Wei

Kevin Wei creates experimental jewelry at the precipice of experimental architectures. His collections invite you to think and act differently, drawing upon complex patterns, rhythmic assemblies, multi-layered structures, and other novel tectonics to create miniature formal concepts for the body. He operates at the intersection of computational design, robotic-driven manufacture, and traditional metalworking techniques to create jewelry that is quite unlike anything of its kind. Kevin Wei is a teacher, jewelry designer, and technology tinkerer who began as an architect. He serves as adjunct assistant professor of Architecture at Columbia University, teacher at the Shapeways Skillshare School, and independent maker of objects for on and off the body. He holds masters and advanced degrees in architecture, urbanism, and applied research from Columbia University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Carnegie Mellon University.
