  • Aerofoil Section (with perforations)

Description

This is an aerofoil that can be used as both a demonstration piece for people to hold and also for scientific experimentation. The perforations can be used to draw stall air in and thus reduce the aerodynamic footprint in the air stream and improve the lift to drag ratio this can be compared and contrasted to the blade element without slits. The same model without the incision of perforations in the planar area can be found on this website too.

(Frame not included)

(This blade element is based upon the AH 93-W-145 Aerofoil used for Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT). There are two mounting points, one on each side of the blade element. Also, on one side there are three exaction holes so air can be sucked or blown though the perforations.)
