Matte

High-detail stainless steel models are treated with a blasting operation after printing, using small and gentle media. Outer surfaces, inner areas of your model and sunken areas get a matte look. The matte finish is the gentlest post-processing technique for your model and will give you the highest level of detail.

Satin

High-detail stainless steel models are post-processed with the blasting of media. Outer surfaces get a shiny look, whereas the inner areas of your model and sunken areas will be slightly darker. The satin finish is a more abrasive finishing technique for your model and will give you a lower level of detail than the matte finish.

Gloss

With this finish, high-detail stainless steel models will undergo a mechanical polish. Outer surfaces get a polished look, whereas the inner areas of your model and sunken areas will appear darker and more matte because the polishing stones are unable to access those parts. This polishing technique is the most aggressive and will erode your model by a few microns. Corners facing outwards will be rounded off. Therefore this technique will result in a lower level of detail than the satin finish.

Because each model is different, it's difficult to predict the outcome of this process. If we believe polishing is not suitable for your model, we will contact you with alternative solutions.

This finish adds 2 days to the standard lead time.
