175 Submissions – 3 Winners: Top Designs of the 3D Printed Jewelry Challenge
We invited jewelry designers and 3D modelers from all over the world to participate in our ‘3D Printed Jewelry Challenge’ and submit their designs for rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, cufflinks, and any other piece of jewelry. All participants stood a chance to receive their submission as a 3D print in 18K gold. Let’s take a look at the top 3 designs and the final winner!
We are so grateful that so many of you participated: we received exactly 175 submissions – making this contest the most successful challenge in i.materialise’s history! Thank you all for making this challenge such a big success. Of course, this made it all the more difficult for us to decide upon a winner.
But without any further ado, here are the top 3 submitted designs including our lucky winner:
3rd place of the 3D Printed Jewelry Challenge: Pocket Pin Cat by Olga Shekhtman
“This is Pocket Cat Anatoly. He jumps in into your pocket and amazes everybody around you. It is some kind of brooch, held on by a pin. Isn’t he able to jump off? No, Anatoly sits tight because of the needle under his paws.” – Olga Shekhtman
For the 3rd prize, Olga will receive a goody bag including vouchers from i.materialise as well as a 1 month subscription from RhinoGold.
2nd place of the 3D Printed Jewelry Challenge: Croco Head Pendant by Benjamin Cann
“Exploring further my stylish animal jewelry collection, this crocodile head is the newest design. The spirit of this unique piece is based on interlaced complex and organic shapes. Furthermore, it demonstrates the capabilities of 3D printing in terms of innovative design in the realm of jewelry.” – Benjamin Cann
For the 2nd prize, Benjamin will receive a goody bag including vouchers from i.materialise as well as a 1 month subscription from RhinoGold.
1st place of the 3D Printed Jewelry Challenge: Honey Bee Charm, Elizabeth Landis
“Bees are a symbol of diligence and indefatigable effort. Honey is the sweet reward. This is a versatile charm that could be printed as is and attached to a necklace or mirrored for a pair of earrings. I envision this piece in a yellow gold or red gold finish that mimics the color of honey.” – Elizabeth Landis
