New Trophy Revealed – Will You Be the 2015 i.materialise Designer of the Year?

For the third year in a row, i.materialise will present its ‘Designer of the Year Award’ to a deserving designer selected from a wide array of outstanding and creative submissions. Learn how to take part with your design and get a first look at the new trophy!

Every day we are impressed by the amazing designs and creative projects that get uploaded onto our website. In 2013, we decided to introduce the ‘Designer of the Year Award’ to celebrate our 3D printing community, the dedication, ability and creativity of our versatile designers.

Back then, the first Designer of the Year Award was granted to the Italian design collective AmniosyA. Their stunning designs, comprising mostly futuristic fashion accessories and architectural models in polyamide, convinced the jury.

In 2014, we were happy to announce that the Dutch 3D sculptor Danny van Ryswyk won the competition. His ‘dark wonderland style’, complemented by his incredible level of detail and refined hand-painting skills, was simply unmatched.

Over the course of 2015, we have been on the lookout for the most inspirational designers, artists, makers and hobbyists. If you still want to take part in this annual event, make sure to share your print with us on our forum, or tag us on social media (such as Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, or Facebook).

At the end of the year, we will decide among three nominees. One of these nominees will ultimately earn the title of ‘Designer of the Year 2015’ and get ahold of the new trophy exclusively designed by the 2014 competition winner.

So, make sure to participate, tag us on social media or post your project on our forum. If you still need to get your design 3D printed, upload it here and let us make it come to life in 100+ materials & finishes.
