Tiny Miracles: 3D Printed Custom Made Jewelry with Morpheus
Gone are the days when a precious piece of jewelry could only be found by scouring shop shelves. Want to design the ring of your dreams or replace a favorite pair of earrings? Morpheus, a new online platform for jewelry design, offers an easy way to create just that little bit of magic.
The secret, of course, is 3D printing – and an international network of designers and master jewelers hailing from the likes of the Tyler School of Art (Philadelphia, USA), Edinburgh College of Art (Scotland, UK), Accademia di Brera (Milan, Italy), Rhode Island School of Design and Providence (Rhode Island, USA) ) and Shenkar design school in Israel. The process itself is simple. Sign in to Morpheus, upload at least one photo of the desired item, make sure the virtual model is exactly what you’re after and it’ll be sent to us to be printed in gold, silver or another precious metal.
The team at Morpheus will also take care of post-production work such as the setting of gemstones and offer a handy range of size guides to make sure you get the perfect fit.
Just what you’re after? Check it out at our Creation Corner.
