Great News for our SketchUp Users

SketchUp, the favorite tool of many of our community members just received a major update. The 2014 version is easier to use than ever and comes with some significant improvements. And fear not, our team has worked hard to make sure the new update is fully compatible with our i.materialise website. Drawing in 3D will be a breeze. Some good news for our Mac users: the i.materialise plugin has been improved for you too.

But what gimmicks have changed? For starters, SketchUp has infinitely expanded their models in the 3D warehouse, which is looking great now. They have also added the possibilities of previewing embedded 3D models on the web page, uploading models directly from web browsers and bringing new product catalogs to the creative table. In a nutshell: better 3D modeling and easier to draft documentation.

All new and improved features of SketchUp 2014 are presented in-depth here. We are excited to see more and even better 3D printing orders based on SketchUp models. We have prepared some tips and tricks that might come handy for printable SketchUp models, which are all available here.

Happy 3D designing and printing!
