Master Square - 1

Description

This puzzle is a higher-order Square-1 in that there are twice as many edge pieces as before, and that there are also four layers instead of three. Because two edge pieces still have the same angle as one corner piece, the geometry of the puzzle is octagonal. It also has a second axis for slicing, and because of this, the puzzle can also shapeshift into a 2x2 which can randomly bandage depending on the previous moves. This allows the puzzle to scramble in many, many more ways that the original, making the solve more difficult and very unique.

This puzzle is sold as a DIY kit from i.materialise and as an assembled copy from me. Due to the nature of the printing and production process, the pieces will have excess powder inside of them that must be cleaned by hand (use a small metal tool and an air compressor to do this). You will also need to supply yourself three M3 screws (15mm length), three M3 washers, and (optionally) 3 springs for assembly. The stickers for this puzzle are available here.
