Hi Jose, you can send in as many designs as you want. You can even create your own collection if you want. We look very much forward to your entries. Best of luck!

Hi, I m writing to ask if there were any further details available on the kind of outfit the model would wear, in order to conceive the design of the hat accordingly.
Thanks for your time.

Can there be multiple pieces for one accessory that, after assemble is bigger than 20x20x20cm, but can be printed in 20x20x20cm?
David Arroyo Wednesday, February 08, 2012 12:07 PM
@Anto
Hi, I've done some asking around about this and it seems that we have not reached an agreement with the modeling agency in terms of what the models will be wearing, however we are open to suggestions as your requests could be passed on to the agency. Let us know what you've got in mind and we'll see what we can do. Just remember that no matter what they'll be dressed in black and there will be male and female models available.
@ Lily
Unfortunately all final pieces have to fit within the 20x20x20cm box. No assembly required. You can however hand in more than one design as there is no limit as to how many entries you can have.
I wish both of you the best of luck!

I think it is unfortunate that the rules did not provide a specific time for entries to be submitted on the 15th. As I see imaterialise took the liberty of changing the end date to Feb 14th instead of the 15th. The next time I hope you can be fair and include the exact time and not change the competition right at the end. I'm sure there were plenty of individuals that would have liked to have submitted an entry and based on the initial rules would have been within the Feb 15th deadline.
heng Wednesday, February 15, 2012 8:07 PM
darn I just found my idea. I thought it was still the 15th.
Thursday, February 16, 2012 9:33 AM
Laura, our sincerest apologies for the mix-up concerning the final submission date. Next challenge we will indeed indicate something like date, hour CET. We quickly discussed this issue internally and it seems only fair that we open up the challenge for submission for one more day. We have re-enabled the ‘submit design’ button on the challenge page for an extra day. So, you can still submit your entry here http://i.materialise.com/challenge/the-hats-off-to-3d-printing-challenge or if that doesn’t work out for you, you can always send it to contact@i.materialise.com. Hope to see your submission on there. Good luck! - i.materialise -

Thursday, March 01, 2012 1:32 PM
yes !!!!!!!!!! who is the winner .......
David Arroyo Thursday, March 01, 2012 1:55 PM
Unfortunately we won't know who the winner is until the 18th of April. The jury decided to choose the winning design and the runner-ups after the top 20 designs hit the runway. Like this they can view the 3D printed design in real life and make a better decision.
However, we have decided to announce the Top 20 today and that list you can see on this link:
http://i.materialise.com/blog/entry/announcing-the-top-20-of-the-hats-off-to-3d-printing-challenge
These designs will be 3D printed and will hit the runway on April 18th during the Materialise World Conference.
