Solidsmack & i.materialise are working together to bring you a lighting Design Challenge. Create your own Light Design.
 

Entry: Multiple entries are accepted! Make as many light designs as you want and send them in!

Prize: One 3D Print from i.materialise – Value: US$ 266 (€ 199)

Duration: 00:00:01 GMT Mon, Jan. 3rd, 2011 – 23:59:59 GMT Sun, Jan. 9th, 2011.

Selection: Winner will be selected based on three criteria – style, function, uniqueness.

Announcement: All entries will be posted. The winner will be announced Mon, Jan. 10th, 2011.

Eligibility: The 3D Print can be shipped worldwide, so if you can send it in, you’re eligible!

How to Enter

  1. First download the starter kit model.
    Download SolidWorks, Solid Edge and Inventor kits here.
    Download STEP model here.
  2. Create your design incorporating the lamp fitting in the model.
  3. Leave Ø2.4 inch (Ø6 cm) clearance (shown in model) around the bulb.
  4. Use a maximum diameter of 5.12 inch (13 cm) for the lamp design

Then just…upload a rendering of your model, your 3D file and an explanation of your design here to this page.

Hey Marc,
I think it would be better to send images (i mean render of your model) and the 3D model to the contact@i.materialise.com web mail so guys will take care on that.

Hi, I made a mistake and put the end time of the challenge too soon, Sorry about that. If you did not have a chance to submit your design earlier, you can do so now.

The SolidSmack contest page asks only for a screenshot or a rendering. I sent the pics to Solidsmack by mail, like explained on the SolidSmack page. Is it correct, or do I have to register here to upload my designs ? Just to know, because the contest details aren't exactly the same here and on SolidSmack... Thank you for the answer !

You should be ok but it would be nice to upload your design here so we can show people a gallery of all the contestants.

I registered,tried to upload by clicking on "submit a Design" button on this page, I got the message "sorry, an error occurred. Please try again."...
