Soft-Hued Transparent Resin is Here to Stay

In a blog entry in May, we asked for your help in deciding on the color density of our transparent resin. We polled our community’s preferences on the blog, at meet-ups, and events and came to a decision: the transparent resin colors will stay in their current shades. Thank you all for your feedback!

When you choose a color finish for transparent resin models, varnish that contains a pigment is used to give the desired shade. We currently offer seven color choices, all of which are light and soft-hued. These nearly transparent colors are produced using 3% pigment mixed into the varnish. We asked our community if we should increase the color density by adding more pigment to the varnish, and discovered that the majority of people actually preferred softer and clearer colors that we apply now.
