The narrow part of this conical fitting has to be on top in the design of your lamp.
When designing a lamp shade you will have to take 2 security requirements into account.
1/ You need to have a spherical zone around the bulb of 30mm. This area needs to remain completely open.
2/ Best is to have an opening for cooling at the bottom and at the top of the shade, allowing an airflow.
The larger the opening, the better. We advice a minimum opening above the bulb of 400 mm? and below it of 100 mm?.
