I think I was probably one of the first people to receive an i.materialise model. And I must say I was quite stunned when I first saw the produced model. I looked at it many times in 3D software, but in reality with all the lights and shades, it looked awesome. Not a single detail I designed was lost during the production. In addition the material is really good, so I can really let people feel and touch the model without being afraid that they break it.

I already got a lot of positive reactions on it and our architects asked if they could use the pictures to put on their website.

I noticed that the model got dirty quite quickly. Many curious hands left a lot of marks. So, I decided to give it a layer of white paint. The paint had the desired effect and even an extra one I didn’t expect. After painting the model the porosity became a lot smaller and the dust is extremely easy to remove, but moreover the layer of paint prevents ambient lights to come through the walls.

Before the model was painted, it was very hard to see any details inside the model, because there was almost no shade. Even 3mm thick walls didn’t prevent this. Now the walls are not transparent and all details are clearly visible.

I am happy that my model came out dead straight. All in all I am one very happy customer!
